Thank you SO much to everybody who came to the group meeting yesterday. And a special thank you to those of you who purchased tickets to help me with materials for my upcoming trips to Billings and Anaconda. I have a special goal in mind to create a large postcard with info on Safety and Babywearing tips. I will post a picture when they are here.
Here is a special little video on pulling out our winner. Although it’s upsetting that I cannot give everybody a sling, I am happy that it is going to a very special mama with a very special little boy. Congratulations January!

Per a request from a consultation (thank you!) I have started offering gift certificates. This means that if you can’t think of that perfect shower gift or don’t want to buy more onesies for the expecting parents, you have a unique, useful, informative option. A BabyWearing Private Consultation!! You can choose to purchase a one hour session, a two hour session and/or admittance into the Lending Library (including one carrier rental for a month). The parent(s) will get one on one time with soon-to-be certified BabyWearing Instructor Cindy Maxwell. She will talk to the parent(s) about the benefits of babywearing, safety precautions, the different types of carriers and will teach the parent how to use the ones they would like to try. Contact us at info@bwbozeman.com for pricing!

Part of my requirement for getting my certification through the Babywearing Institute is doing 9 consultations and reporting on how they went. I would love to get through these quickly. I have two accomplished, but I need your help. Even if you have seen me before or have met me at a meeting, if you want more information, more help or to learn a new tying method with your wrap, please give me a call. I will have you come over for a one-on-one consultation, at no cost!! The prospect of getting my certification is very exciting for me and I can’t wait to get it!
Just for fun here is a picture of Tiny in an Alpaca Blend Didymos wrap. Isn’t she cute?

UPDATE! All Free Private Consultations are GONE!! Thank you SO much for your interest. It’s been amazing!!

I was a poor planner this year for International BabyWearing Week, but inspite of that I still had a good turnout for the walk. I didn’t think our weather would be nice at this point and really wish I just would have assumed it would be, then I am sure we would have had a much better turnout! Nevertheless, thank you so much mamas for coming. All our kiddos got to watch the parade, then some of us took a walk to the nearby Bogert Park. I had to leave earlier than I would have liked, but hey, I still had a good time! Here are a few pictures.

So I have been very lax about posting on this blog and I feel awful! Obviously things have been a bit hectic. For those of you who don’t know I had my fourth child in the beginning of August. Here we are a month later doing some newborn back wrapping. This is a Neobulle Noah, size 4.6 in a Secured High Back Carry. Within a few minutes of being put in it she fell asleep. Yes I did put her on my back by myself, over the softness of our bed. I am working on doing some photo tutorials for Piece of Cloth and will update this post when I have that done for this particular carry with a newborn. Even with them being so small it can be difficult to do certain things while wearing on your front. Although I definitely prefer the closeness of the front carries at this point.
Here are a few pictures!

So I admit it, Stacey Haugland is the best midwife in the whole world. . .and oh no. . .I’m not biased. There are some fantabulous midwives in this wonderful town of Bozeman, but only two Birth Centers. The newest being BirthWorks and the only one our enormous group fits into! For over a year we were meeting at the equally gorgeous Bozeman Birth Center that Stacey helped open. In the midst of laboring with my littlest man in October of 2008, I chatted with her about how stressed out I was at the groups current location (meeting at the library, with only being able to schedule one meeting at a time). Without missing a beat she said something to the effect of “Well, we would love it if you would meet at the Birth Center”. Totally threw me for a loop, but that is just how wonderful and generous Stacey is. So we started meeting there and loved every moment of it. About a year later Stacey decided to branch out on her own (about the time I got pregnant with #4) and start up BirthWorks. Then a few months later we realized that our group was just a wee bit too much for the Birth Center, so once again, Stacey came to the rescue and offered her new facility as our new meeting place. We couldn’t have asked for a better establishment.
At my monthly (or bi monthly now) appointment this morning with my favorite midwife (Stacey of course) she told me that her website was up and I found out that she even has a Facebook page! So go take a peek and see all the wonderful stuff she is offering (like Blissful Bellies Prenatal Yoga and even a beautiful space for BabyShowers or Blessingways). I really love this place, called. . .BirthWorks. And don’t worry I will, hopefully, be doing a blog feature on not only Stacey but some other wonderful midwives in town.
